I agree with the Pancake man. Coming back every now and then just to even do an art dump will get you a lot of exposure and traffic. In your descriptions just say "for more go to edkwong.com" or whatever. I see a lot of people doing it and they're still as popular as ever.

Great site, very clean and minimal. It's kinda similar to a design I had in mind for my own site revamp
Totally understand where you're coming from in terms focusing your output there. These days it's so easy to have a blog here, a journal there, a showcase some place else... it's good for exposure though. Just makes it hard to update them all!
But as for Deviantart, you may find that most people are inclined to traffic here (were they can communicate with greater immediacy with you, your work and those who also like your work) than a static website...
Your website is your house. Your Deviantart page is your store in the mall.
